2.  Hired a Training Officer to administer and provide training for our personnel

3.  Took delivery of 2 state of the art EMS units (ambulances) thereby fully completing the first phase of our ambulance replacement program ahead of schedule and under budget!

4.  Purchased one brush truck to complete the vehicle replacement committee’s replacement schedule for brush trucks ahead of schedule and under budget!

5.  Purchased 1 compressed air foam system (CAFS) equipped pumper / tanker and 2 CAFS equipped pumpers thereby adding 1 tanker to our fleet and replacing the 2 older pumpers

6.  Secured 3 grants:     US Fire Administration (FEMA) $95,000 for the purchase of firefighting gear and equipment including firefighter safety and training, Texas Forest Service:  $54,000 for the purchase of a brush truck, Texas Department of State Health Services:  $35,000 for the purchase of an ambulance (see number 3 above)

7.  Continued a more one on one fire education program to better teach our children about fire safety

8.  Began a fire hydrant testing program in which hydrants are tested and serviced twice per year allowing greater familiarization with the location of our fire hydrants, better operation, and assisting in lowering our ISO rating.

9.  Continued working with a consultant to lower our Insurance Service Office (ISO) rating.  ISO is a private organization that “grades” fire departments and establishes a rating which insurance companies utilize to determine how much you should pay in fire insurance premiums.  Lowering our ISO rating will lower the amount you pay in fire insurance premiums.

10. Installed over 40 new fire hydrants with the assistance of Canyon Lake Water Supply Corporation
