The minimum age for applicants is eighteen (18) and there is no maximum age. Applicants are required to be certified or certifiable as a MINIMUM Firefighter - Basic by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Technician - Basic by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
